- All sol-gel organic-inorganic materials b ased on the prepolymer of a melamine and analkoxysilane (tetraethoxys ilane; TEOS) have been de velopedT. he alkoxysilane was incorporated into the melamine matrices with different weight ratios ( 10 t090%) .T hermal pro perties of the organic - inor ganic mater ials are greatly enhanced as co mpared to those of the c ure d melamines . This is due to the su ppression of molec ular motions by the for matio n of inorganic networks . No sign of phase se paration was obser ved for all co mpos itions when magnific atio n was 10k. Optical Clarity was obtained for each co mpositio n . Silic a particle sizes are well u n der 1μ m.
